Samhain, celebrated from October 31 to November 2, marks the turning of the Wheel of the Year from harvest into winter. Rooted in ancient Celtic tradition, it is considered a liminal time when the veil between worlds is thinnest, allowing easier connection with ancestors, spirits, and guides. Fires were once lit to honor the sun’s waning power, and offerings of food were left for wandering souls. Today, Samhain is embraced as both a time of remembrance and renewal—an opportunity to honor loved ones who have passed, release what no longer serves us, and set intentions for the dark half of the year. It is the spiritual root of many modern Halloween customs, carrying the deep magic of endings, beginnings, and transformation.
